Summary:
SanMar is a leading clothing distribution company, seeking a Sr Virtual Infrastructure Engineer that will support an exciting and rapidly growing state of the art VMware infrastructure. As the Sr Virtual Infrastructure Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain our UCS and storage infrastructure at HQ, across 8 distribution centers nationwide and a colocation. Utilizing your highly qualified talents and skillsets, you will also support continuous improvement initiatives, VMware DR strategies using SRM and implement proactive preventative maintenance requirements. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for 24x7 uptime of all VMware hosts on the corporate production and development environments. Primary administration of all enterprise storage environments across all sites. Monitor and adjust VM resources as required, to optimize UCS performance & storage resource consumption. Detection of VMware issues, monitoring and ownership of standards and requirements. Analyzes organizational business needs in terms of information technology systems requirements. Play a lead role in capacity planning and growth estimation efforts. Document all VMware processes and procedures. Develops information technology systems that will provide system capabilities required for projected workloads and plans layout and installation of new system or modification of existing system. Confers within the organization with various managers and staff to obtain information on limitations and capabilities of existing system and capabilities required for information technology requirements of the future. Evaluates factors such as number of departments serviced by data processing equipment, reporting formats required, volume of transactions, time requirements and cost constraints, and need for security and access restrictions to determine hardware configurations. Propose VM provisioning solutions for review and/or for implementation. Provide quarterly storage, UCS memory and processor utilization statistics. Review existing datastores and UCS allocations to determine if reconfigurations are necessary to ensure maximum efficiencies in our UCS and VNX environments and make recommendations for addressing misalignments. Responsible for documenting and maintaining UCS and SAN/NAS firmware updates as well as upgrades to the underlying hardware systems. Provide guidance and mentoring to Associate-level colleagues. Highly developed investigative and analysis skills. Perform regular system checks, review and respond to events as reflected in various management tools. A Self Starter with a positive attitude and a passion to learn networking technologies. Performs well under pressure. Design and Implement ESX Clusters, HA, DRS, vSwitches and Distributed Switches. Ensure adequate data protection methods are in place and recurring testing scenarios are being carried out. Proactive approach to daily work, identifying ways to make improvements to the environment, and communicating effectively to peers as well as management. Focus on furthering personal education by expanding existing and cultivating new skill-sets while maintaining awareness of emerging industry solutions and technologies. Interface with outside technology vendors and partners for the purpose of architecting new or overhauling existing solutions. Play a lead role in project lifecycles. Requirements for Position:
B.S. in Computer Science or a Related Field and 5 years of experience in a Data Center environment or High School Diploma/GED and 8 years of experience in a Data Center environment. The successful candidate must have recent, expert level, hands-on experience architecting, implementing and configuring VMware ESX 5.X/6.X and VSPhere 5.x/6.X technologies within an enterprise environment. More than 5 years of VMware and SAN/NAS experience. VMware Certified Professionals (VCP, VCAP, VCDX) strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of Site Recovery Manager or other replication methodologies preferred. Must have experience with Disaster Recovery strategies and understand the fundamentals of Business Continuity. EMCSA certification a plus. Cloud-based virtualization experience a plus. UCS experience preferred. Knowledge of vSphere Enterprise and vRealize Suites. Previous VMC administration experience a bonus.
Qualifications:
Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical topics to management and non-technical audiences, as well as interface with the customer on a daily basis. Works on moderately-complex projects and assignments. Moderate latitude for independent judgment and decision making. The typical exempt incumbent will have 3-6 years' experience. Ability to quickly respond to service impacts and possess a strong troubleshooting acumen. Proven UCS and storage investigative and analysis skills. Expert knowledge of VMware VSphere Enterprise 5.5 or VCloud Standard. Demonstrated ability to forecast resource needs in the Storage and UCS environments. Must be organized and manage workloads efficiently. Physical Demands:

Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Systems Architecture & EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
